A Change of Heart to Keep My Promises

    October 27, 2009 / No Comments

I have had a change of heart and yet, somehow, NOT a change of direction…. For the past month, I have been organizing my thoughts, analyzing patterns, defining the details and creating worksheets to help explain exactly what I mean by a Pattern Interrupt.  But, I constantly felt conflicted about sharing this information.  Not because I didn’t want to help people make meaningful, lasting change but because I was afraid it wouldn’t work for anybody but me. I’ve combed through my history many times (and the 20 or so journals that catalog it from as far back as grade school) and I can follow each pattern interrupt through to its…

About Patterns, Lasers, and a lack of Undigested Chunks

    October 2, 2009 / 1 Comment

Look, the world is changing and you want to change with it. But it’s hard to do that because of all the negative pre-existing patterns that are currently propagating through (and by that I mean having “pattern sex,” multiplying, and thoroughly screwing up) your business & your life. I’m not just talking about the annoying habits you’re trying to break (although we’ll get to those)…. I’m talking about all the hazardous, inconvenient, uncomfortable problems that keep popping up and holding you back from getting exactly what you want out what you do. It sucks when you finally decide to streamline your shipping process, loose weight, or find your soul mate…

Light the Fire of Passionate Action

    July 15, 2009 / No Comments

Passionate action can be an elusive beast. You won’t find it in your goals, in your actions, or in your life until you discover it’s source... inside yourself. Unfortunately, many people block the expression of their own passion because they are afraid that even if they find it, they’ll loose it in the next instant. This fear slowly eats away at any motivation to fulfill their dreams by projecting the illusion of safety within the glass walls of a closed heart. You can feel the truth is out there, but you just can’t touch it. Blocked from sadness and joy by the invisible walls of logic.

    Are You Really Good Enough?

    June 22, 2009 / No Comments

Some days you can just feel the stickiness around you. It holds you like a butterfly in honey... stuck in your rut, trapped in your box, the walls of a life, a job, or a career, that you don’t want, but can’t seem to get out of. You can see a million ways to change, but how do you know which option is the right one. So instead of taking action, you hesitate. You hesitate because you’re not sure that whatever you do will actually change things enough to make a difference. How can you know if you are strong enough, smart enough, or fast enough to make a lasting…

Responsibility, Power & a few Red Hot Chili Peppers

    June 10, 2009 / 4 Comments

Change is Easy. Making a choice is hard. Before you start thinking I've banged my head at one too many Red Hot Chili Pepper concerts, consider how many times you actually made an important decision today. How many times did you come up with an idea, make a choice about that idea, and then act on that idea without fear or hesitation? Don't live a passionless, boring existence helping someone else reach their goals by ignoring your own. Here's why...

Find Your Courage to Lead… at the movies

    May 28, 2009 / No Comments

Courage is a call to action — one that creative leaders never, ever ignore.  Leadership directs change.  Leadership drives growth.  And Leadership generates success by overcoming the fear of failure.  All because true Leaders build the courage to make decisions and accept the responsibility for their choices, alone. Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear.  – Mark Twain – ADMIT ONE – Think about the last time you went to the movies.  Everybody goes to the movies to have a good time, to be entertained for a few hours, to experience the thrills, chills, loss, and love of an adventurous life.  But did you…
