About Lira

Hi!

That’s me. I’ve been studying Tarot and Divination on my Great Grandmother’s knee since my formative years, long before the internet existed. That means I read physical books *gasp* from the local library, faster than a raven could fly (or is that a Writing Desk?) and I’m a proud child of the 80’s who used to fall asleep in the Harley Davidson sidecar my parents made from an old munitions shell while they drove the back roads of Oregon farm country.

Eventually my family forced me to get off my *ahem* booty and out of the house by choosing between piano lessons or ballet. I chose ballet…and then I chose jazz…and then I chose tap… and then I chose them all! I had just enough time to develop a passion for all forms of dance before we moved away from the big city and away from the dance studio I loved. The memory of movement remained embedded in my soul and I constantly found new ways to keep that memory alive. Whenever the trials of life upset me, I would explore a new type of movement, including martial arts, aerobic fitness, yoga, qi-gong, sensual floor and pole dance classes.

Now, I’m a card carrying Capricorn, so I actually studied Physics and Electrical Engineering instead of attending Martha Graham’s School of Dance or Crowley’s Mystery School.  But I did manage to supplement all that math and business acumen with a certification in the PoleCat Power method in 2008, maintained my Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500) since 2011, added the Awakened Body Certificate in somatic systems, and trained with Marlo Fisken’s FloorFlow Teacher Training in 2024. That means I can (and do) Twerk in platform heels while channeling the 2024 Year Card (Strength) and calling to my Ancestors during Eclipse season.

I can usually be found dancing at one of the local Los Angeles pole studios, studying with my pleasure coach, teaching sensual floorwork, or reading tarot cards for my friends and clients. When I’m not dancing or divining, I’m building rockets. And when I remember that most sane people need a vacation, I finds a beach and stare at the ocean for as long as possible.
